I used to work in credit card marketing and I've seen the money and resources that go into getting people to open credit cards and to build balances. Card issuers build mathematical models and track statistical correlations over very large numbers of people to determine how best to get you to pay them interest and fees. I'm glad to see Curtis expose some of the tricks that issuers use and how we can turn these techniques to our advantage.

[...] I would love everyone to use these techniques to your advantage. For those who can use cards to their advantage, this book is a must-read.

This book is amazing if you want more information on how to make credit cards work for you. It covers how to get out of debt, how to handle your cards, and how to earn rewards and money back, plus other topics! It's such a great book, I've actually read other books that refer to this book to make their points! So if you are wondering if you should purchase this book or maybe look for another book, I would say this is the IT book. You probably don't need any other books. This is the ONE!

Credit card companies seem convinced that most consumers are spendthrifts who will quickly sink into debt if given the chance. And owning a credit card gives you that chance. Unfortunately, few applicants read the fine print on new credit card offers until they are merrily charging away and their debts mount. Eventually, previously naive consumers figure out that if they are late with even one payment, interest rates on all their cards can skyrocket. Fortunately if you know what to do - pay on time - you don't have to incur heavier debt. Here, consumer advocate Curtis E. Arnold outlines how you can reward yourself financially with savvy credit card use and how you can protect yourself. He hammers hard on the need to pay up, but the message really matters to your credit rating, particularly until new U.S. credit card regulations go into effect. Arnold explains how knowledgeable consumers can use the card companies' money for little or no interest, get cash back on their purchases, earn airline miles and even get the companies to contribute to their children's college funds. And none of it has to cost a dime. Want to learn how? getAbstract recommends this book to anyone who uses credit cards and wants to come out on top.

This book presents a common man approach to the potental positive side of the use of credit cards. Curtis Arnold has researched and presented this unique approach not to entise one to use credit cards but rather to insure that the user receives their full benefits. Certainly, there are concerns with the improper use of credit cards, but the misuse, or lack of understanding of the consequences of using multiiple credit cards with out a strong payment approach can be quite damaging. One can compare, the usual attitlude as the denial of misuse as one of sure credit failure of one's credit rating. Our credit ratings today can determine our job opportunities as well as general every day standard of living. As a former school counselor, I highly recommend that all schools have this book in their school curriculum.

Now that the CC rules have changed, will there be an update book?

Obama will sign into law some sweeping credit card rule changes that will send the industry on its head, and some consumers with it--will there be a book on how to profit from the NEW credit card rules? So far, all I've been able to suss out is how to avoid the Obama-placed roadblocks to credit access, since he plans on doing away with pretty much all profit opportunity.
